BAScon Art Show

The Art Show is a fun, well-lit place to check out the talents of the wonderful artists who have worked long and hard to produce the amazing art that is the BASCon art show.

We've been fortunate in the past to feature various types of art including prints, jewelry, and mixed media pieces and we're always on the look out for the new and different. If you have any questions or would like to submit to the show for BASCon 10, please contact our art show coordinator, Liz, at lizkeough@gmail.com

Art Show Submission Guidelines

  1. We accept art from the original artist as well as resale art in good condition.
  2. Artists do not have to be members of BASCon to enter work in the art show.
  3. All pieces should be titled and matted or framed. All art should be protected with at least a clear protective covering (i.e. cellophane, clear acetate). The art show can not be responsible for inadequately protected art.
  4. We will accept up to four Not For Sale items or (NFS) on a space available basis.
  5. Prints must be clearly labeled as “Print” on the control sheet and bid sheets. Please do not send NFS prints.
  6. All prints in the art show must have serial numbers and series (i.e. 4 of 10). [this does not apply to print shop pieces]
  7. All art pieces must be labeled in the back with the following information: name, address, phone number, email address, fandom of the piece and whether it is an original, print, or resale.
  8. Art brought or sent to BASCon must have a completed art control sheet (so we can track the art) - you must enter a line item for every piece you submit.

Deadline for Mail-in art: October 25th, 2010. Mail-in submissions will not be accepted after that date.

Please include a check to cover return postage and insurance, as well as, instructions on how you want your art to be sent back to you. We encourage you to pack your artwork carefully as BASCon will not be responsible for any artwork lost or received in a damaged condition by mail.

Send your artwork and paperwork to the following address:

BASCon
Attn: Art Show Coordinator
P.O. Box 282197
San Francisco, CA 94128-2197

Please inquire for an alternate address if you would like to ship by UPS.

There will be a 15% commission on all art and crafts sold. Artwork not sold must be picked up by 1:15 PM Sunday.

Mail-in art will be sent back to artist/owner within two weeks after the convention and checks will be mailed within that same time period.
